Product Context

One platform, multiple professional journeys.

Yliway brought professional identity, learning, content, relationships and opportunities into one connected product.

The challenge was to support different users, goals and interaction models without turning the platform into a collection of disconnected tools.

01

Build Identity

Create a professional profile supported by skills, experience, education and endorsements.

02

Learn

Discover courses, training rooms, webinars and professional content.

03

Find Work

Connect skills and professional experience with relevant job opportunities.

04

Find Clients

Use professional identity, content and relationships to support business development.

05

Build Community

Create and participate in professional networks, circles and activities.

06

Create Relationships

Communicate, organize meetings and maintain professional connections.

Professional Growth
The Support Center exposed the product's core journeys: work, profession-building, earning, clients, community and relationships.
Product Ecosystem

Identity, growth and opportunity within one connected system.

The platform needed a product model that connected professional identity, growth, content, relationships, opportunity and operational support without presenting them as unrelated modules.

Professional Identity

Turning a profile into a structured professional identity.

The profile connected professional information with skills, education, certificates, self-learning and peer validation.

Rather than treating skills as static labels, the product organized them into technical, relational and mindset categories and connected them to evidence such as experience, education and endorsements.

Professional identity: profile, role, skills, evidence, suggested skills and endorsement requests sit inside one profile system.

Technical, relational and mindset categories.

Evidence

Experience, certificates, education and self-learning.

Endorsement

Peer validation and endorsement requests.

Discovery

Suggested skills connected to professional role.

Career Opportunities

Connecting opportunities to skills, not only job titles.

The job experience combined opportunity discovery with skill matching indicators, candidate requirements, suggested learning and the complete application process.

01

Discovery

Search, profession and location filters, saved jobs and applied jobs.

02

Matching

Technical, relational and mindset compatibility indicators give context without implying a specific algorithm.

03

Requirements

Education, experience, languages and candidate criteria are visible before applying.

04

Skill Gap

The role detail connects candidate skills with expected capabilities.

05

Learning Connection

Relevant courses are connected to missing or desired skills.

06

Application

CV, motivation letter, portfolio and supporting documents remain part of the same flow.

07

Similar Opportunities

Related roles support continued professional discovery.

Learning & Growth

A complete learning journey from discovery to participation.

Learning was not a single screen. The product had to connect discovery, course evaluation, participation, event management and the supporting repository behind professional learning.

  1. 01 Catalogue

    Discover

Search and browse training rooms and learning opportunities.

  2. 02 Course detail

    Evaluate

Review course details, skills, structure, requirements and certification.

  3. 03 Learning event

    Participate

Join webinars, courses and professional events.

  4. 04 Organizer tools

    Interact

Invite participants, follow speakers and provide feedback.

  5. 05 Repository

    Manage

Store recordings, documents and supporting materials.

Catalogue: browsing and filtering training rooms creates the first step in the learning journey.

Event management: learning providers and event organizers need participant, invitation, feedback, document and public-event tools in one flow.
Repository: recordings and uploaded documents support the operational side of learning.
Content & Publishing

Content as part of professional authority and discovery.

Publishing connected individual expertise with profile authority, professional discovery and community interaction.

Feed and discovery: featured activities, composer, posts, topics, related content and engagement create a content-led entry point.
Article management: write, published, drafts, deleted, edit, author attribution and topic discovery.

Article experience: long-form content, rich media, charts, reactions, comments, replies and save/share behavior remain available in a full reading flow.
Communication

Supporting direct conversation and contextual interaction.

Communication patterns had to support private and direct conversations, threaded replies, reactions, attachments and contextual product notifications.

Messages: search, direct/private filters, threaded replies, reactions, attachments and composer are organized inside a readable communication workspace.
01

Conversations

Search, direct and private communication.

02

Threads

Replies connected to a specific message or topic.

03

Reactions

Lightweight interaction and engagement.

04

Attachments

Documents and supporting content.

05

Composer

Message creation within the active context.

Notifications: product domains require contextual structures with confirm, reject, remove and turn-off actions available in place.
Calendar & Events

Connecting professional activity through time and participation.

Calendar and event creation connected professional activity through views, time slots, overlapping events, participants, reminders and videomeeting access.

Calendar: week, day, month, list and year controls sit above a time-based workspace with overlapping events and synchronization.
Event creation: title, time, location, participants, timezone, reminder, videomeeting and notes connect the calendar to participation.
Product Architecture

Support content reflecting the structure of the platform.

The Support Center exposed the platform's core professional journeys: finding work, building a profession, earning through the platform, finding clients, building community and creating professional relationships.

Support was not only documentation; it mirrored the user-goal model that organized the broader product architecture.

Maintaining common visual and interaction rules.

Product Patterns

Creating reusable solutions across profiles, content, learning, jobs and communication.

State Coverage

Defining behavior across publishing, participation, application and notification states.

Design Leadership

Leading design across the complete platform.

The role connected feature-level UX and UI work with platform-wide consistency, team guidance and product quality.

Product Delivery

From product need to consistent platform delivery.

The delivery model treated each feature as part of a wider system: define the need, clarify roles and flows, design the states, review consistency, align the team, support development and feed refinement back into the next product need.

  8. Repeat: iteration returns to the next product need
My Ownership

Product design responsibility across platform, system and team.

The work covered platform modules, system-level consistency and Design Lead responsibilities without extending into frontend or backend implementation ownership.

Outcome

A scalable foundation for professional growth experiences.

The work established a consistent product language across professional identity, learning, content, community and career opportunities, helping the platform expand without treating every new module as a separate product.

Breadth

Multiple professional journeys supported within one platform.

Consistency

Shared patterns across independent product domains.

Clarity

Complex roles and workflows organised through understandable structure.

Scalability

Reusable foundations supporting continued platform expansion.

Reflection

Complex SaaS products need strong architecture before visual polish.

Yliway reinforced the importance of structuring roles, content and interaction models before designing individual screens. The strongest design decisions created reusable patterns that could support identity, learning, content, opportunity and community within one expanding platform.
